Manifesting a New Flat .... A True Story

I was living in Sydney and the tenancy lease on my flat was about to expire and the owners were not renewing the lease as they wanted to conduct renovations.

Having read Shakti Gawain’s book on “Creative Visualisation”, I decided to give it a try.

I thought about what I wanted the flat to “look” like: Two bedrooms; comfortable and spacious with plenty storage; clean, bright and airy with a garden or balcony area; wooden floors, (no carpets); a good sized kitchen; a laundry; quiet location and within walking distance of the beach.

Within a week I read an advertisement pretty much covering all and more the factors I was visualising for my new “perfect” accommodation. I telephoned the number on the advert and felt deflated as soon as I heard where the flat was situated.

It had everything that I had visualised and created in my “minds eye”. The only thing I had forgotten to visualise was that the flat would need to be on or near a bus/train station (I had no car).

Unfortunately, it was not.

I learned a lot from that. If I am going to be so good at visualisation - I need to be a bit more specific. It does not need to be entirely “specific”, but I had omitted a big part of what I was trying to create.

No FAIL – just a First Attempt In Learning!

A Gentle Note to End On

And remember, you are not alone. We all experience times/moments of overwhelm, and our thoughts and feelings are often more alike than we realise.

If this resonated with you, or you know someone who might benefit from it, please feel free to share it.

And if you'd like support to explore what's beneath the surface, gain clarity and move forward in a new direction with more ease, understanding and perspective. I'm here to support you when you're ready.

THE FEELING NO ONE TALKS ABOUT Loneliness is something we all experience at some point - but it’s not something many of us feel comfortable talking about. It can linger in the background for so many people, no matter their age or circumstance. Over the years, I’ve come to realise how deeply we need to feel connected - to be seen, heard, and accepted for who we are. To feel like we belong. That we have a tribe. A community. People we can show up to as our full selves, without masks or pretence. This can be especially true for men.

As a holistic counsellor, I’ve seen firsthand how powerful language can be. The words we use don’t just describe our world - they create it. When we constantly tell ourselves we're worried, anxious, or not good enough, our brain starts to believe it, and our body follows suit. But when we change the way we speak to ourselves, we can shift our energy and our mindset toward a more positive, empowered space. It’s a small change in perspective that can make a big difference in our overall well-being.
